Safe Mode, Benefits and Uses

For most of our (computer users) may be familiar with the term Safe Mode. Provide this feature in the Windows operating system, for a variety of purposes. For example, to inspect or repair the damage to the windows system, remove viruses, check for damage and other drivers.

How to enable Safe Mode and anything that can be utilized when we've entered Safe Mode?

What is Safe Mode?

Safe mode is the preferred option start up windows whose primary function handle if there is a problem with the system. Windows will run with minimal conditions, only the files and important drivers in the switch, as well as additional software mostly not enabled. Then when it entered safe mode, then it will appear the words "Safe Mode" in the top corner windows.


How to Enter Safe Mode

  • Safe Mode with Command Prompt, same as safe mode except that the program Command Prompt / MS - DOS Prompt ( cmd.exe ) will be activated immediately ( not explorer )
  • Enable Boot Logging, windows will create a file Ntbtlog.txt , when the start-up and start-up information will be stored in the file . This file is usually stored in the root system , for example, drive C:
  • Enable VGA Mode, Windows will run with a minimum display modes such as 640 × 480 or 800 × 600 . Usually used to check for damage or error [ driver ] VGA ( graphics display windows ).
  • Last Known Good Configuration, running windows using the registry information that was saved when the last shutdown . Use one if we change the system configuration , or when windows failed to get into the main display.
Some of the benefits of Safe Mode
  • Uninstall previous software causes the computer hangs , errors and so on . Sometimes after a certain program installed windows problem, so if it can not be uninstalled through normal mode using Safe Mode .
  • Disable certain applications or programs . To facilitate the entry into Safe Mode , can use application which can be obtained free Autoruns from SysInternals . This technique can also be used to check the computer loading slow . If no Autoruns , can type in msconfig in the Run menu to run the System Configuration Utility , if it has been selected through the Startup tab.
  • Examine the problems with the graphics display windows (VGA) . When the display windows problem , can be checked by selecting " Enable VGA Mode " , if it works and does not see the problem , the possibility of problems in the VGA driver .
  • Deleting files / virus can not get through normal mode . Some antivirus can still be run in safe mode , and tried to scan through safe mode . Sometimes the virus is not running in safe mode, although many also be active even in Safe Mode.
  • Running System Restore if previously enabled, so the condition of the system can be restored to its previous state.
  • Running various features of the Control Panel, Administrative Tools, and etc..

Safe Mode is a standard feature of Windows and sometimes quite useful for some problems like the above, although sometimes like a virus could also active in this mode, so use safe mode not be enough.
